Jordi Beentjes

Producer, Mixing & Mastering

Jordi Beentjes on SoundBetter

I'm a self-taught producer from Amsterdam and who specialised in beat making, mixing and mastering. I mainly work with hip hop and pop artists, but also do ghost production and release music under various aliases myself. I've been doing this for over eight years and am happy to work with anyone who wants to make good music.

I started producing as a kid and never let go of it ever since. Eight years ago I started an EDM act but quickly expanded my productions to pop and hip hop, which was my introduction to recording and mixing and mastering jobs later on. I love blending genres and experimenting, but also appreciate a very well made and straightforward production.

Interview with Jordi Beentjes

  1. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  2. A: Make sure you're having fun while making music. You're able to hear the difference if you're not.

  3. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  4. A: Creativity.

  5. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  6. A: I like to keep my studio very minimal. It consists of a MacBook, a pair of headphones, a midi keyboard and, of course, my studio monitors and interface.

  7. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  8. A: I'm inspired by a wide array of artists from different genres and backgrounds.

  9. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  10. A: I generally work closely with the artist on their song. It can either originate from the artist or me, depending on if I have something they are willing to work with or if they already have an idea in mind. I'll then create a rough instrumental draft of the song. If the artist is satisfied, we'll record the vocals and perfect it from there.
