Interview with vincr9
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I like to exploit the entire stereo field to make the song sound huge and wide and bring vibe with subtle saturation
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work with Ableton Live linked to a Icon Pro G2 console with Steinberg audio interface UR-44 and Yamaha HS8 monitors in a room calibrated with Sonarwork reference. I also work with my Audio-Technica ATH-M50X for double check. I use different plugins (Fabfilter, Izotope, Slate, Waves...)
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I am graduated as engineer, and I continously learn from professionals with courses and masterclass
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Try to precisely analyze what you like in music
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Indie Pop/Rock, Trip-Hop in first place. I also worked on Hip-Hop projects
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: First listen the stems, raw balances and panning and then think about how it has to sound and process it in this goal. I particulary like the sound takes the full stereo field available with our ears !
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I takes my influences from a lot of genres: Foals, Phoenix or Klaxons for Pop-Rock, Chon, Polyphia or Covet for Math Rock, Bonobo, Yussef Dayes or Badbadnotgood for Trip-Hop ...
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I want the rendering perfectly match the client's wishes. I ask what she/he is looking for, what are her/his influences and how she/he wants to sound. I work with the stems to give a full sound mix and do several revisions with the client feedbacks.
