Interview with Producer Matt
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: There are four projects I worked on where I was the songwriter/producer as well as the artist, and I performed them at a concert at a well known college in Florida.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Various beats for my BeatStars and Sound profiles.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: No one yet. I hope to meet some producers to form friendships with. I'll add them once I begin to meet some!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. Mainly because I rarely ever see analogs anymore. Every device I use has a digital clock.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise that the song will be unique in a way that not only I will appreciate but that my clients will be pleased with.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love that I'm able to connect with various artists from around the world and
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: What styles of music are trending in the world of music right now?
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That songwriting doesn't have a process beyond the writing of the lyrics and creation of the beat. It does have a process beyond that. The process extends beyond those two things because as an artist you have to connect with the producer, and as the producer you have to connect with the artist. Otherwise it doesn't work well.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What mood are you in? What was something that inspired you to want to create this particular song that we'll be working on? What's on your mind currently? Is there currently anything in life that you feel burdened by that you'd like to express through these lyrics? Has there previously been anything in life that you feel burdened by that you'd like to express through these lyrics?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Do your research. Make sure you like the person you plan to hire prior to hiring them. If you can't form a friendship I wouldn't recommend hiring them. So don't just buy a service, buy the service that you feel will be well worth the provider and you as a clients time.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: A microphone, a guitar, a laptop, a keyboard, and a bunch of cables to connect them all.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been writing and performing songs since I was 14 years old. I've performed my original songs at various venues and events across America. As I've gotten older I've decided to start producing music too so I could begin working and performing with artists.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style is unique and inspired by many new and old artists
