Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My Wilborn guitar, Teac real to real tape recorder, Shute SM 58 microphone, Fender Princeton amplifier and my Melancon P-90 Artist.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Come with a good song and a vision and we’ll end up with a great song that exceeds your expectations.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Finneas. I love the way he constructs his songs, how he layers the vocals and uses such a variety of sounds, sometimes even from found objects.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: I like to pan a vocal slightly to one side and then use a bus with a very slight delay panned 100% to the other side and mix the two to get a full vocal sound.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Americana, country, rock and pop.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: A commitment to excellence.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I have a strong vocal sound on my own and am also able to offer sound alikes in the Americana genre.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I work with the composer to discover the feeling and emotion they are going for in the song. I like to then offer a few approaches, depending on the feel.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I use Logic Pro X with the Slate Digital Virtual Microphone System and an apollo interface.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Bjorn Thorsrud is a producer that inspires me. I also love the artists that self produce like Wilco.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I am doing vocal work for my clients. I sing parts as written and can also help writing harmonies and arranging.
