Interview with Subsonic Voodoo

Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. It allows you to go back and forth to get a perfect sound without re-recording stuff and the result is more predictable. But if you're not limited in time and resources you can combine digital and analog to get the best of both worlds.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I just started playing with some music software around 2005 when I was in high school and many years later I found out that I can get a better sound than many popular artists have.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Dark, heavy, creepy, catchy, detailed, creative.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I do most of the things in the box, using the best available plugins. I also have few electric guitars, basses, keyboards and some other equipment.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: My main inspiration is KoRn and other classic nu metal bands. Modern metal like newer BMTH stuff, Ocean Grove, Northlane, Eskimo Callboy also inspire me. Mick Gordon, NIN, The Prodigy, Muse. Basically any interesting high quality music inspires me.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Usually I compose original tracks; do covers, mixing and mastering in any genres.
