I found one of REUBEN'S beats on YouTube and contacted him directly asking to purchase an exclusive beat, he got back in contact with me quickly and we negotiated for a fair price, he then asked me if I wanted a customised beat too, I said yes and told him what I wanted, he got it done and to me within a very quick time span, around 2-3 days. We then negotiated a new price for the customised beat and very easily came to an agreement and he was happy to work within my budget, he asked me to drop him a review on here, he works fast and is customer friendly! Highly recommend!
Great high quality work completed within a short time span! I contacted REUBEN privately through his Instagram account for a custom instrumental, he made and sent me my instrumental within the amount of time we agreed on, which was 3 days. He was easy to negotiate with and provided me with a lot of value, he then asked me to write a review here on Soundbetter, I highly recommend his services! :)
Interview with REUBEN
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: At the moment, I am working on projects for artists and building my brand as a music producer and beatmaker :)
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I don't know him personally, but Trey Bruce is a great songwriter, and he is on this platform :)
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital for me. I believe music is a new age, with digital production we can push boundaries, bend genres and change the sound of music all together :)
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My promise to my clients, is that I will try my absolute BEST to get the work to the best quality possible and get it back to them within the agreement specified :)
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The creative process definitely. I love making music! :)
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: The questions customers most commonly ask me is about prices and how long a piece of work will take to get back to them. I always let my customers know that they will only have to wait a week at MOST for the work to get back to them, and I let them know that I can work within their budget. :)
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I ask prospective clients questions uniquely based upon the work they want me to complete for them. I ask them what do they want me to do, to get the work to the best possible quality for them, I then continue to communicate with my clients, until they are happy and satisfied with the work that has been completed. :)
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: If I were on a desert island and could only take 5 pieces of gear with me, they would be: Laptop Laptop Charger Headphones Mouse Speakers All you need to produce great quality music ;)
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been producing music for around three years. It is my passion and I have put and will continue to put everything I have into it. In that time, I have worked with artists across the globe. Some with 10 fans and some with 100,000 fans. But to me, the music itself is the most important thing.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I would describe my style as chill/lofi, but with a mix of other genres. Such as pop and RNB
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: The artist I would like to work with most is Frank Ocean. He has been a HUGE influence on me and my music, he is someone who has inspired me greatly. But I am open to working with any artist, big or small. :)
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: MIX LOW! This would be my greatest music production tip, if you mix quietly, the flaws in your mix will make themselves more present. You will be able to tell what is too quiet and what is too loud. :) (Reference mix your tracks too) ;)
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work on slower types of music. From pop, hip hop, chill, lofi and RNB.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is my work ethic. I am always focused on getting a task done and getting a piece or pieces of music back to my clients within the time promised.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: To a song, I feel I bring the very best out of each sound, I give each individual sound, and each individual layer of a song its own, unique process, to make sure not only does that sound, sound good on it's own, but it fits nicely into the rest of the song too. This goes for all sounds in a song, from the melody, the bass, the vocals, the drums, the harmonies. Everything.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My typical work process is very inspiration based. I am inspired by many different things, such as; songs, people, movies and other natural sounds such as birds chirping or rain falling. But I always work fast but efficiently, and make sure I have done by absolute best to ensure the music is the best it can be.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio setup is simple, I have my laptop, speakers and headphones. These have gotten me professional results time and time again, and if it's not broke. Don't fix it. ;)
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: There are many other musicians who inspire me, the main ones being Frank Ocean, Joji, Post Malone and Billie Eilish. People's who work I find myself going back to often. :)
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most commonly, I produce instrumentals and full songs for my clients. I also occasionally help co write a song and provide lyrics if needed.
