I am a 30+ year veteran of the music industry. I have over 30 commercial releases to my credit, going back to 1995. This includes charting hits in Canada with Yakoo Boys and YBZ and more recently, Juno Award winning artist, Sam Roberts. I am an expert level engineer with world class sonics and a highly efficient production pipeline.
In an era of fist-pumping, DJ/producer slashies, it’s rare to find a producer whose aspirations are pure: highlight the essence of the artist, creating music that’s fresh, viable and relevant. For more than a quarter century, John has honed his song writing, sound design and production skills towards this pursuit.
John’s ace is his diversity. Name the genre and he’s worked with it. Choose a style and he’ll get you there. His eclectic experience is what separates his sound from the chorus and it’s this intangible quality that enhances every track that leaves his studio.
While that diversity is an asset, his allegiance remains firmly pressed upon the EDM pulse—during his career, he’s crafted and remixed a plethora of radio, festival and club hits including the release of an album with DJ Paul Glover under the moniker Glover | Grenn.
Whether collaborating with Juno Award-winning artists like Sam Roberts, remixing “violinist-extremist” Kytami or crafting his own club hits, John’s philosophy remains the same: “Take the attributes, sensibilities and essence of the artists and elevate the production to its potential.”
There are two kinds of producers: those who seek the limelight and those whose allegiance is to the music; John Grenn is one of the latter.
