Simon Black is a professional sound designer and filmmaker (40 projects including music videos, documentaries and 7 feature films), director, musician, and producer from Wales.

Currently concentrating on sound design he is working with the director of the stage show 'Utopian'

His own musical rock band 'Satan & the Faeries' have produced 100 tracks over 12 months. All tracks recorded spontaneously and literally made up and arranged while being recorded live (bass, guitar, keyboards, vocals etc)
everything is recorded in 1 to 5/6 takes, Bass and keyboards usually first run, a kind of challenging musical meditation set in the moment with no previous practicing and arrangements of the songs before that recording day

Simon has worked for the notorious Nigel Wingrove at Salvation Films and has had 2 films released on DVD by Salvation as well as 2 released independently, all films were shot, directed, edited and sound scored by Simon

I'm a theatre producer and director and I was recommended Simon through a colleague for some sound design work. Previously, I had commissioned a sound designer to make a track and was unfortunately not happy about the outcome. I spoke to Simon and I found him very warm and willing to listen. I provided the same brief as I had to the previous sound designer and was exceptionally impressed with his musical skills and attentiveness to what I was looking for. I'm now working with Simon on my theatre production throughout 2021.
