Giovanni Cordova is master of his craft. He took my poor, home-recorded tracks of my audiobook and turned them into something I am proud to give to listeners. The working experience was flawless, even across continents. He saved my dream.

Giovanni is wonderful to work with. For starters, he is VERY patience, which was a huge plus for me. I had mixes that his mastering work showed me weren't finished. Once they were, his mastering made them sound like a million bucks! The quality of his work is matched by his service, that is to say, it is all exceptional. He is a master at his craft and I look forward to working with him again!

Interview with Giovanni Cordova
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Depends of what the song needs.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The fact that I'm working on art. And that every single time I get to hear something different and unique.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: My passion for the beauty of sound has always been part of my life. Long before my studies at SAE I was fascinated by different instruments, tonalities and mixes.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I'm open to work on any type of music honestly. I don't want to put boundaries in order to improve and learn.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Probably thinking that mixing/mastering can make a bad recording/production sound good. A song is like a dish: the final presentation will be the best only if the quality of the ingredients is the best.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My actual setup. Laptop, Headphones, Interface, something to power it.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Constantly evolving.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Precision in everything from the first message with the client up until I deliver the last file.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring cohesion and balance without loosing the natural dynamics of the performance.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I like to over communicate with my client at first. This way I can get more about the vision before I start to work on the project up until the final version.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I tend to pick up a song from anywhere in between a rough production and a finished mix and do whatever is necessary to push it to the finish line.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Any artists who put their soul in what they do.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a compact portable setup which I can bring with me when I'm travelling and plug into any studio I'm in around the World.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Invest in your monitoring. This can be your room or a good pair of headphones.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I am really inspired by Mark Ronson, Diplo and Luca Pretolesi.
