Dereshean Jarrett, better known as MixedByOTR, is a
sound engineer, DJ & producer based in Toronto, ON. His
journey in music started at a young age with his first
love, DJ’ing. From then, he learned how to produce and
continued his learning at Toronto school Trebas, where
he was introduced to the engineering world.

A Trebas Institute and Remix Project graduate, he has
built up his resume to work with a number of artists &
companies, notably DVSN, Idman, Pvrx, Mercedes Benz
Canada, Reebok Canada etc.

OTR is one of my favourite people to work with. He's professional, knowledgable and is honest. He mixed and mastered my whole EP called, "Just For Fun 2020" and made the process so easy. OTR mixed the my first and only release on all DSPs so far. A song called complicated. I had it mixed by three people before him, they're all talented people but every mix i got back I just didn't feel confident. I thought I was overthinking it. I found out about him while talking to someone i just met in line at a concert. I sent it to him to mix and within the first 5 seconds of the first draft of the mix I was 100% sure I found the right guy. Everything sounded better, it was clean, loud and so true to the song. Great guy to work with. I know I'm going to use him again in the future.

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: 1.Listen to our previous work to know if you’d like to work with us
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Punch, Clarity, Depth and Width across the mix
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital because thats what i can afford but any chance i get to use another especially when recording i definitely take advantage. The goal is to have a analog/ digital set up!
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: The time is takes to get a great mix done
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Do you have demo of the change i can take a listen to ? What direction do you want to take the mix ? Do you have any references of past or another artist you might want to share as a reference ? How soon do you need the song to be mixed ?
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

A: Started out as a Dj at a young age, got into beat making and than engineering. Ive been engineering for 6 years now.
