Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital! You have simply way more options to operate detailed on your work. Just imagine, 30 or 40 years ago, technicians and musicians would've had the current technologies of the present, well, let me say you would recognize a difference!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I actually do something I love!
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Every customer should know as good as possible what he/she wants, makes it easier for everybody, for the musician as well as for the producer.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Well, my musical education startet at the age of 8, when I began to play the piano, always loved it and I still do. Then at the age of 13, I guess, I startet playing the guitar. But I was always wondering how things were done 'behind the scenes'. I leanred a lot of things about sound engineering, until I ended up on a school for audio engineering, where I finally decided to earn my living with music.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Trying to help my clients with my musical knowledge and experience. Mostly I produce or compose stuff.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Train your ear and gain experience, best tip I've got so far
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Music is work, and work should be paid. No matter if artist or technician.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: If they're ready to enjoy and get it on ;-)
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: A crossbow, a stack of porn mags, a bowie knife, a fully charged ipod with my all time favourites and my acoustic guitar :-)
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Easy going, always, and passionate!
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Jack Black, because he's hell of a musician and I think a whole lotta fun to work with! And everyone who'd bring a teardrop to my eye!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Usually Rock and Heavy Metal, it's what I grew up with and love the most, but I'm very open minded to other music genres.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: A good ear!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: May I say a tiny touch of my own? The perfect mix between what the customer wants and what I think is best for the production.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Find out what I or my customers actually want, it's more difficult than it sounds. Then realize it!
