Preston Shewbridge - Alabaster Road Studio
I grew up playing and learning the art of bass in church and in the studio thanks to my lovely mother, a worship leader and studio owner. I've been playing electric bass for twelve and a half years and stand-up for eight years. The renowned jazz bassist Rufus Reid once said of my musical intuition, "Boy's got ears the size of cauliflowers."
I've performed or tracked bass in every genre out there---pop, rock, country, blues, gospel, hip hop, folk, electronic, classical, jazz, funk, punk, compas, latin. Some of my favorite players are Pino Palladino, James Jamerson, Paul McCartney, Lee Sklar, and Edgar Meyer.
Furthermore, I have plenty of experience in most every aspect of recording and producing in many different genres. In addition to bass, I can play guitar and ukelele. I also have extensive programming experience related to beats, synths, and realistic samples. I can program most anything---a sick hip hop beat, a nuanced realistic drum track, subtle or huge synths to fit any genre, or great-sounding realistic VSTs. I can also have live drums, percussion, or keys played on any song by a professional for the quoted price.
