For 15+ years I have run Modiba Productions (www.modiba.net) specializing in artist management and production for international talent (mainly Afrocentric music from Africa, Latin America and the US). Produced about 15 albums in that time, working in the US, Europe, South America and Africa, worked closely with Dan Auerbach (Black Keys) and Dave Longstreth (Dirty Projectors). Graduated with honors from Wesleyan University with BA in music. Grew up a huge fan of hiphop, funk, soul, motown, rock, jazz, pop, etc. Toured for many years after graduating college as bass player for Vieux Farka Toure, Bombino, and even got to tour with the funk legends Fred Wesley and Pee Wee Ellis. Played bass for 12+ years in mamarazzi (mamarazzisounds.com), described by NPR as their "Favorite new unsigned band" and described by Time Out NY as "Brooklyn's 8-piece afro-funk juggernaut". Have been producing hiphop since highschool (late 90s for me), work under the alias Murcury. Half of cosmic hiphop duo Anoxiax with MC Tavi Fields.
