Fulvio on SoundBetter

Italian pianist and composer with 20 years of experience, touring as live keyboardist and programmer, and working in studio as composer and arranger, producing from Jingles and Orchestral Mockups for Trailers and Commercials, as well as working as studio session player and arranger in many musical projects.

Hey! I'm Fulvio, Italian composer and producer.
I started my musical journey with classical studies, violin and piano, at the age of 4. Later, I focused my studies on Jazz Piano and Music Composition.
I graduated from Berklee College of Music, in 2003, with a Degree in Composition.
While in Boston, I had the chance to study and work as arranger for Richard Evans (Motown producer and arranger), Greg Hopkins (Frank Sinatra, Joe Williams, Dizzy Gillespie, etc...) and many others.
From 2014 I'm working as composer and producer for Jingles of most famous European Theme Parks, and music for Trailers and Commercials.

Fulvio was very helpful. Cannot be more happy with my choice and the results. He recorded a lovely soundtrack for me. The communication was flowing easily and he took extra effort to ensure I like the end product.

Interview with Fulvio

  1. Q: How would you describe your style?

  2. A: Organic, dynamic, non static at all.

  3. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  4. A: Be completely honest with your music. As a music composer your music should ultimately reflect the real You! This is the only way to reach the listener, deeply, no matter the kind of music you're up to.

  5. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  6. A: Composition and arrangement

  7. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  8. A: I use Logic Pro X as main DAW, but I also use ProTools and Ableton Live, depending on the project. I have a huge collection of orchestral samples and virtual synths to combine with more acoustic sounds.

  9. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  10. A: I like to have a little talk with the Client before starting to work on a project, no matter if is a song arrangement or a Trailer, in order to better understand his/her goals about the sound. So I can start working on the structure, instrumentation, harmony, melodies, whatever is required to develop the right mood to the arrangement or composition to fully meet the Client expectations.

  11. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  12. A: The list would be endless...but every single Composer or Artist I've studied, from my early Classical years, through a big portion of my studies in Jazz and contemporary music, gave me

  13. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  14. A: I recently worked on an Opening Logo music theme for an Italian Entertainment Company. I was the composer and producer. What a particularly enjoyed about this small project, was the time limit! I had just 15 seconds to express in music what the Client tried to tell with animation. And I love this kind of challenge. I'm quite happy with those 15 seconds of Orchestration.

  15. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  16. A: Electro Pop, Cinematic/Orchestral, Electronic, Rock

  17. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  18. A: I work on arranging songs from piano/vox or gtr/vox versions until final product. I work on editing tracks, especially on vocal tuning, which I've been doing for quite a lot, for pop artists or TV shows. I also compose jingles and music for Commercials as well as Cinematic Trailers.
