Clara is amazing, every song she writes has been exactly what I’ve been looking for!
Clara is brilliant, to put it mildly. She has an amazing ability to create music perfectly suited to you project, while also being able to connect with your audience. On top of everything she has an excellent turn around time, I would highly recommended her!
Clara helped with some backup vocal work for our song. She did a fantastic job and her voice is amazing! Thank you Clara!!
I'm working on my second album with Clara at the moment. She has been an absolute joy to record with. She is an amazing talent and has an extremely versatile vocal palate. She has been super additive to both of my projects. She's professional and efficient and her vocals will blow you away.
If you need top line or the best vocals, just hire Clara. Any style. She is my secret weapon and I hire her as much as possibly can. The highest recommendation possible!
Interview with Clara Lofaro
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: My greatest joy and goal is to bring a client's, (a.k.a. artist's) vision to life. The things I specialize in are making their lead vocal and hook stand out with backup vocals that shape the song and add dimension to it, writing a song that tells their story in the voice, style and perspective they are going for, writing a melody and lyric that lifts and brings the music track to life, and mastering the vocal sound a client is looking for in their song either by singing it myself or producing a singer's vocals in the studio. There is nothing that makes me happier than when a client's vision is realized in the music and support I can supply for them.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I am lucky to be based in New York and work with some of the city's finest musicians and sound designers. Some writers and singers I admire are Annie Lennox, Paul Simon, The Wood Brothers, Patty Griffin, John Legend, Sia, Punch Brothers, Bonnie Raitt...the list is endless.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Soulfulness, sincerity, strong hooks, dimension, vibe
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: songwriting and singing
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Every week I am hired to sing in various styles from jazz to rock n roll, pop, r&b, soul and rock.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Less is more. Start with the elements that feel the strongest as opposed to creating a ton of ideas/parts and sifting them out.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would LOVE to write a song with Patty Griffin. Her emotional, vulnerable songwriting and singing captivates me. It's not trying to be anything. It just is what it is and what it is is great.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My cell phone because I could use it to write and record, my piano, my laptop, my mic, audio work station.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Don't go by names and gear. Connect personally and listen to examples of their work that fit what you are going for.
