Passionate Lofi Hip-Hop artist with more than 2,000,000 plays on my Spotify catalogue alone. My song "Slow Day" was co-signed by Pharrell and his team and featured #1 on the iamOTHER x SoundCloud compilation album vol.001. Songwriter and Topliner. I love creating melodic hip-hop/rap and indie alternative music in my free time.
My name is Michael Richard, A.K.A. Mike Sb, and I am a 28 year old artist and songwriter from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I've been making music for 10 years now. I love writing songs and would be stoked to work on your next project. I specialize in Alternative Hip-Hop but love creating all sorts of music.
I am reliable. I am punctual with my deadlines. And I won't stop until you're happy with our creation. That's why you should hire me for your next project.
When you do choose to hire me, please inform me of any ideas or expectations you may have both lyrically and melodically for our collaboration. The more information the better so that I can aim to over deliver.

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I worked in a writing camp with Obai, an amazing young & on the rise artist from Arizona, and it was incredible. Working with a team of writers and producers to create something special for an artist is very fulfilling. I was a songwriter on the song.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Stige Rickards.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: both - that analog feel mixed with the new digital workflow is mean!
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: To always over-deliver in a timely manner.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Creating for a living. I do work a full-time job as well, but eventually i'd love to create music full-time via SoundBetter.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: What my rates are and such. Rates are as listed on my profile, but its more than an amount of money that I care about. I'd prefer to make sure that you're happy with your decision to hire me. We can negotiate the price as long as it's fair.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: interface, laptop, microphone, guitar & harmonica
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Mac Miller - I think we would have meshed well.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: I'm a novice music producer, but my one tip is let go. Don't judge your work compared to others, especially when you're starting out. Have fun with it!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm currently writing and creating music that feels true to me. Releasing every 4-6 weeks. Figuring out the content space on social media.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I'm perfect every time.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Budget, timeframe & expectations.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Be descriptive, the more detail the better. I don't bite, I swear.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been creating for about 10 years now: from the mixtape days on DatPiff to TikTok content creation.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Laid back, confident, positive.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Hip-Hop, Rap, Rnb.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Rap lyrics.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Diversity, substance, energy.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Listen to the beat, track my initial thoughts as melody layers, figure out a concept and build the song around it and the melody layers.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Audio Technica microphone, Focusrite Scarlett 2i4, KRK Rokit 6's, MacBook Pro.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Mac Miller, Felly, Dominick Fike, Bob Dylan, Jack Johnson. Too many to name.
