I'm an Italian crooner, guitarist, and producer, highly specialized in Jazz / Swing music. Frank Sinatra and Michael Bublé are my main style. My albums reached millions Spotify streams. I can offer you my experience, professionalism, and high-quality recordings.
If you're looking for a warm baritone voice perfect for the Sinatra / Bublé sound or a Swing / Bebop guitarist, you're in the right place. I've recorded many albums as a lead artist and collaborated on numerous others. I've also shared the stage with several renowned jazz musicians, performing in private events, festivals, and clubs in Italy and England.
In addition to my experience in jazz music, I'm versatile in many other musical styles, such as pop, country, and blues. Moreover, my voice is also well-suited for songs in the style of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and of course, Italian songs.
As a guitarist, my influences include legends like Barney Kessel and Joe Pass, and I proudly play a 7-string archtop guitar, drawing inspiration from like Bucky and John Pizzarelli. This versatility is mirrored in my guitar work, allowing me to explore various musical styles.
Many of works I've done are made in my studio, where I often compose, arrange and produce the complete song. I'm equipped with professional microphones, many guitars, Motu audio interface, Logic Pro X, and tons of plugins.
Project completion times are flexible, usually within a few days, depending on your specific needs. Prices may vary with client requirements. Additional fees apply for tracks intended for official release / commercial use.
Use of my name in projects requires prior consent.

A pleasure to collaborate with Giuliano. I was looking for someone with the tonality of Sinatra and the soul of Nat King Cole. He delivered a cool fusion, with a dash of Johnny Fontane - a genuine olive oil voice.

We finished 2 projects together - it was like working with a best friend - and at the same time a world class musician.
Both projects were extremely challenging pieces of music. Both the vocal and guitar tracks I received back were top notch - really as good as it gets. Giuliano adds heart and character - and gives everything in his performances - It raised my music beyond my expectations. Thank you my friend.Hope to be back asap.
Interview with Giuliano Ligabue
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I ask to give me as much info as possible on what kind of sound they would like to get, I ask for the bpm and key of the song. Once recorded it could be a problem to change it and it's important to be sure.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Definitely my "Swing Band" project where I wrote the wind arrangements as well as sang and played.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Currently I have just released my new album and I'm recording some new singles including some unreleased ones. Looking forward to returning to live music soon.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: If you need an electric bass player, I would definitely recommend Federico Barluzzi, a nice person, very professional and really open mind musician. He can play everything.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Today digital offers great possibilities, but I still listen to vinyl a lot. I love analog sound for its warmth even if with some imperfections.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My 'promise' is do give always my best for customer satisfaction.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: It's great when the audience appreciates you, you feel fulfilled, I think it's the most beautiful aspect.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Can I release the song you recorded or use your name? Yes, with an extra cost. Can you sing or play other genres besides Jazz / Swing? Of course, I can record guitar tracks in different styles, more blues, country or pop. I can sing any song that requires a warm baritone voice.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Many people think that making music is just for fun, instead it's a job for us, then when everything works it's also definitely fun.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started playing guitar at about 7 years old. Later I started with singing. I grew up in a family of musicians and music immediately entered my life even though it became a job after years. After various collaborations in 2012 I made my first solo album with my trio. Currently I released 4 albums and many collaborations. I played in lots of private events, festivals and clubs in Italy and England.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Give me as much info as possible. A 'guide' track for the voice, the backing track in .wav format, the bpm speed, the lyrics, sheet music, etc. And most importantly, what kind of sound would you like to get.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My D'aquisto guitar, the Eastman 7 strings, Jazzkat amp, the computer and the beta87 mic
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Swingin ' smooth and sensual
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Surely Tony Bennett, he is a legend, the last of the greats, then Diana Krall and Michael Bublé are the artists who best represent the music I love today.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Yes, don't use too many plugins if you don't need to. Try to make a good sound in the most natural way possible.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Mostly Jazz / Swing music but often also pop and soul.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Of course vocals, guitar and producing
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring my experience in jazz music and beyond, I try to give the best interpretation I can, with the right feeling always respecting the original musical style of the song
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: When I start to work on a song I want to have clear ideas, it is very important to start with in mind the sound that the song should have. If I produce the entire song I start with the basics, the rhythm and then I add the voice or the guitar track if it is an instrumental piece. When I see the song begin to work, I fix the details that I think makes the difference.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio is simple but I have everything I need. I use logic Pro X with a Motu interface. I have different microphones based on what I need to record, many plugins, 10 guitars (archtop, solid body, acoustic, classical) and both tube and solid-state amps.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: All the music of Frank Sinatra, the 'Rat Pack', Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole. Among the most recent productions certainly Michel Bublé and Diana Krall. I love the sound of the big bands but also the intimate atmosphere of the jazz trio, one of my favorites today certainly is John Pizzarelli.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I do vocals, guitar tracks, mixing, music production.
