I am a music producer, audio engineer and musician. Being more of a jack-of-all-trades type of creative with Caribbean musical influences, I have worked in many genres such as Hip-Hop, R&B, Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, and more. My instruments are keyboard, vocals and a bit of drums.

Interview with Daryl Samuel
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Show You (Remix 2) by Michael Allan... I'm really happy with the way it turned out... it sounds like something that I will actually listen to.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Hoping to start working on an EP... my first
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Mmm... I'm gonna say analog just for its simplicity.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The fact that it does not feel like a job.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My setup is small so I can actually take most of it with me.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Over 15 years
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Not quite sure yet but I'm happier with my work when there that "bounce" I can groove to.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: There are so many that I like... but Keri Hilson, T-Pain and Lupe Fiasco are a few that comes to mind. Also Timbaland... my first real musical inspiration!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: While I'm very versatile in many other mainstream genres (like R&B and Pop), Hip-Hop, Dancehall, Reggae and Soca are the more common ones.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I usually get right to it... there is no special routine or process in my workflow.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My home studio is simple but consists of all the essentials needed for music production: audio interface, mic pre, studio monitors, a couple microphones and controllers.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Timbaland, The Neptunes
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most of my work is in music composition/production.
