Philip Bowen is an Appalachian singer-songwriter, fiddle player and multi-instrumentalist from West Virginia with hundreds of recording credits across Americana, country, folk and roots music.
A lifelong fiddler who began playing at age four, Philip has developed a style that moves from traditional Appalachian playing to cinematic textures, melodic counterpoint, rock, country and modern Americana. His session work includes recordings with Noah Kahan, Sam Barber, Zandi Holup, Jenna Paulette and others.
As an artist, Philip has built an audience of more than 1.5 million followers, won TikTok’s Greatest Talent, reached the semifinals of America’s Got Talent Season 18 and performed on NPR’s Mountain Stage. His live career has included shows alongside artists such as Darius Rucker, 49 Winchester, Wyatt Flores and Charles Wesley Godwin.
For session work, Philip can take as much or as little creative direction as needed. Send a fully written part and he can execute it, or send a track and a reference and let him build the fiddle arrangement from the ground up.
