I am very passionate about my work and excited to work with each new artist. My experience working with many different artists has helped me to develop my skills for working with others to make each song as great as it can possibly be. Interview with Ronan Quinn
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: To give their song all of the attention it deserves by bringing a positive and passionate attitude to the project.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would love to have been able to play as part of the Motown house band in the 60's sessions. This is where a lot of my influences comes from. There is a magic that makes the music sound timeless and energetic, even when compared to modern music.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I am currently working with artists who play indie, pop, folk, country and soul. I have experience working with a lot of different genres and I am happy to dive head first into any track that is presented to me.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: This is totally up to the artist/producer. I can bring whatever is necessary to the table. When given some freedom to play my own parts, I look for ways to compliment the melody and underline the tone and message of the song without ever getting in the way.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I talk through what the artist is looking for from the song. We can talk about different reference songs or influences. I'll provide a rough outline of what I plan to play and then I will provide 2 or 3 different options which the client can then use for their song.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I currently work with Logic Pro X on my MacBook Pro using plugins for compression and EQ.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I record electric bass parts remotely for clients. I can also provide synth bass if needed.
