Hello, I’m Patrick. I'm an award-winning Motion Designer and Illustrator based in London, UK working across broadcast, sport, music and food industries. Over this time I’ve been weaving sound and motion together in 2D and 3D in to enegetic music videos and working closely with a wide variety of major brands.
I started working in art and design while making music videos for my friends and my own band. Gradually I found total passion for design and animation and now I work full time as a Freelance Motion Designer including working on perma-lance basis with the BBC. My other clients include: Lego, Fox Sports, Chelsea, Gran Turismo, World Rugby, The Daily Mail, Royal Ascot and many more.
I work in 2D and 3D including illustration and 3D modelling. Please take a look at my work for a flavour of the variety of styles I can put together for you.
I'm here working on Spotify because I'm passionate about music and simply put I love working with music artists.

Interview with Patrick Blake
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Advertisement, digital and broadcast graphics, 3D visuals, illustration and energetic animations.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Self-learning.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: High-spec desktop computer, three screens because I'm cool, laptop for spill over render work, studio speakers for pumping out the jams and a load of house plants.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Tame Impala, Run the Jewels, Meshuggah
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Low-fi, alt-rock, trip-hop, RnB
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Energising the artist's music further by boosting the key emotions of the track.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Classical Art training background that now underpins much more clean/modern stylised design and character work.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Typically more time in the planning stage than the execution, though both are vital. Then when production's underway I always work listening to the artist's tracks.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Politics degree -> Musician -> Fine Artist -> Music Video Director -> Motion Designer/Artist. Never believed that life should be a straight line. I've been at this for 8 years.
