An Emerging Name on the Cutting Edge of The UK Dance Scene...
Born from a bedroom in suburban Sheffield, DJ MAKS is the pseudonym of Yorkshire based DJ and producer Ben Marks. His sets and productions are strongly defined by uplifting piano riffs, break samples and a hiraeth to the sounds of 90’s electronic music.
In February 2020, MAKS became the youngest ever DJ (at just 15 years old) to have a regular show on the infamous London based Fantasy FM, which has hosted DJ's such as Krome, DJ Rap, GForce and Karen Harding in its 31 year history. He hosted his show on Wednesday evenings before leaving to focus on local radio.
MAKS can now be found hosting The B2B Show on Sheffield's GUMBO FM, where he is regularly mixing alongside local and national talent whilst providing a local show for the community.
As well as spinning Techno and House music, MAKS can be found sculpting sets of Hardcore, Garage and Jungle as well as many more genres of dance music. His mixes often push genre boundaries, providing appeal to a wide range of audiences. Aside from being behind the decks, MAKS enjoys playing EEb Bass with competing brass bands, climbing and enjoying the great outdoors. His productions have gained approval from labels and producers across Europe, including Mrs Magoo, DJ Eazy Dee, Fokuz Recordings and Rupture. His first EP is set to be released next year on Conrad Subs' Label...
