My credits range from background vocals on Meghan Trainor's album, Title, to being a runner up on NBC's The Sing-Off with my group Street Corner Symphony. I've worked with many other acclaimed artists such as: Alison Krauss, Ben Folds, Need To Breath, and Chely Wright I am also an artist/writer signed to Big Yellow Dog in Nashville, TN.
Nashville-based Jeremy Lister started connecting with music from early childhood while growing up singing and learning harmonies in church. Jeremy moved to Nashville in 2003, bringing his first EP, 'Shooting Star', with him. In 2005, he released his second EP, 'So Far', followed by the 'Just One Day' EP, released by Warner Bros. Records. In support of that album, he toured with Brett Dennen and Colbie Caillat. In May of 2010, Jeremy joined the Nashville-based a cappella group, Street Corner Symphony, for NBC's second season of The Sing-Off where they claimed second place and later toured with Ben Folds. Currently, Street Corner Symphony is headlining shows all across the globe. Jeremy’s song ‘Sinking Stone’ was recorded by Allison Krauss and Union Station on their Grammy-Award winning album ‘Paper Airplane.” In the past two years, Jeremy released his Sign Language EP and his song ‘How Will You Remember Me?’ was featured in a Modern Family promo that premiered during the Oscars.

A: I just finished a holiday album called "Happy Holidays, Everyone"
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Kate Malone for production!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: digital. because that's what I work with.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: to get the highest caliber of vocals and background vocals you can find.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love the chance to sing and harmonize with people.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: What can you bring to this song vocally? I can add many layers. Everything from vocal pads and textures and sound almost like an organ. I can add a gospel choir all with my voice, and sometimes the song just calls for something as simple as a single vocal bgv.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it is easy 😂
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What can I bring to this song and what is your vision for it?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: To have a direction for what you are doing, but an open mind to let the music evolve.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My mac, UA Arrow, SM7, acoustic guitar and running shoes.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been a professional musician for over 15 years now and grew up singing and composing. I've had a major label record deal with Warner Brothers Music and Warner Chappell Music. I was a runner up on NBCs The Sing-Off with my a cappella group Street Corner Symphony. I am currently a writer/artist at Big Yellow Dog Music.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I like to consider myself as someone who wears many hats and does a variety of styles.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Paul McCarney. He's my hero.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: I like to explore the room when I sing and see what kind of natural reverb I can get naturally.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I work on a wide variety on genres.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Singing. Also I pride myself on arranging harmonies and blending with most anyone.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I have a background in Pop, Rock, Soul, Jazz, and many other genres. I like to consider myself a chameleon vocalist who can fit in with any style.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: For vocals, I like to get a feel of the song and talk with the producer/artist about what they expect. Then I record multiple stems of harmonies. I typically try to send a triple of every part I do.

A: I work through Logic/Universal Audio and use an SM7.
