Nick Ray McCann

Session Guitarist

Nick Ray McCann on SoundBetter

Session guitarist specializing in acoustic roots music, slide guitar, R&B, and NeoSoul.

THE BIGST HANDS is the solo musical project of Chicago-born, Baltimore-raised, and now LA-based guitarist Nick Ray McCann.

After trading his trombone for a guitar in middle school jazz band, Nick’s interests in slide guitar and delta blues began to grow. Drawing inspiration from artists like Elmore James, John Fahey, Richie Havens, Ry Cooder, and Derek Trucks, Nick’s interest soon grew to genres beyond the blues to include artists like Curtis Mayfield, Beck, Lou Reed, A Tribe Called Quest, Fred Neil, Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Outkast, The Meters, and Jackson C. Frank.

Working as a session guitarist, Nick pours his love of everything Americana into each project in order to combine timeless tones with contemporary perspective at home in any genre.

With a background in filmmaking, Nick is equally as comfortable performing and composing commercial and film scores.
