Interview with Midnight Harbor
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I produce tracks for singers and rappers to put their vocals on. My clients only have to write their lyrics/melody, send me their vocals, and give their input on how they want the track to sound. I do the rest!
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I'm proud to have collaborated with a talented hip hop artist to create a song that neither of us could have done on our own. I always learn so much by working with other artists, and I'm proud to have the ability to collaborate seamlessly with other artists to create great music. My role in the project was producing, mixing, and mastering the song while he added a verse in his own style.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm collaborating with a hip hop artist to blend our two genres into a hip hop/pop/electronic song. Together we've made something so much better than anything I could have created on my own, and I'm super excited to show it to everyone! It's been a lot of fun working together.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Yes! Mia C. is a fantastic vocalist! She sang on one of my tracks a couple years ago and is super talented, professional, and easy to work with. She delivered the vocals quick too.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise to always give your song the same amount of attention as my own! Your song will be made custom, delivered on time, and I will continue working on it until it matches your vision. Free revisions until it's done right!
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: The most important thing to consider about any studio setup is that you know how to use it to get the most out of it. I've spent thousands and thousands of hours with this setup, and I know how to get a great sound with my gear. My setup includes a Rode NT1A mic, Audio Technica AT2020 mic, Takamine GD20 Acoustic Guitar, Akai MPK49 keyboard, KRK Rokit 5 G4 monitors, Sony MDR 7506 headphones, Melodyne 5 Studio, Guitar Rig 5, Ozone 8 for mastering, and a sound treated room.
