I am here to help you get your mix sounding just the way you want it while prioritizing customer service. I have mixed for many artists across all different genres including hip-hop, pop, EDM, rock, folk, and many others. Check out my before and after demos.
Greetings and welcome to my Soundbetter page!
My name is Eric and I am a singer-songwriter and mixing engineer from Seattle, now based out of Hollywood in Los Angeles. I have extensive experience mixing various genres including hip-hop, pop, EDM, folk, indie-rock, and more.
I have been playing music for over 20 years, have played in several bands (indie, rock, post-hardcore, hip-hop, etc.), and have tracked in professional studios settings for years. I am also a singer-songwriter and producer based out of West Hollywood and work out of my home studio with clients. My experience with being a musician and singer-songwriter helps greatly with my mixing process when it comes to determining what the artist wants to achieve sonically and how they want their song to sound overall.
As a seller, I not only pride myself on making you an amazing mix that you are 100% satisfied with, I also pride myself on my customer service. Having worked with mixing engineers, dozens of other artists and musicians, and people in music business, I can tell you right now my chemistry and relationship with who I was working with was more important than skill or experience. As your mixing engineer I will prioritize customer service by responding promptly to any questions and concerns and keeping you updated frequently on the progress of your mix.
I'm excited to work with you

Endorse EricOne of my favorite people to have my music mixed and mastered by, it always feels like a collaboration more than a transaction when we mesh and for that very reason is why I continue to do business with Eric and gladly pay for his insight and fresh perspective on my tracks!
Eric is extremely professional. I highly recommend him for recording, mixing, and mastering. I feel blessed to have worked with him on my first single "Fun Times," available on Spotify. He was easy to work with, focused, honest, knowledgeable, and strategic in his work process. His kindness and down-to-earth attitude showed me that he has great character.
Eric is a real pleasure to work with! Solid person with a great appreciation and passion for music! Really solid choice for recording!
Interview with Eric
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: My song "Hollywood" on my Spotify. I wrote, produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered it myself. The master was a loud though it turned out great sonically and is my second most played song on my Spotify page.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I recently finished up a new song of mine which was released on Spotify. You can hear it in my Before and After Demo. Right now focusing on establishing myself as a freelancer.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Not at the moment, though I am a newbie and hope to connect with other mixing and mastering engineers to refer others too if I can't offer what someone is looking for. I also always recommend my clients send out their music to separate mastering engineers.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Neither. Billie Eilish recored her vocals in her bedroom on an $80 microphone. Gear doesn't matter. Your skill does.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: You will be treated with the utmost respect as as client.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Learning. Honestly. I have released mixes throughout the last few years that make me cringe, though I am glad I released them. I can learn from them and grow from them.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: What are my rates lol (answer: my rates)
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it's easy. Wearing many hats can take a lot of energy and focus.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What do you want to sound like?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Ask questions. Ask as many as you want. There are no stupid questions.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Guitar, Laptop, interface, headphones, SM7B
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been a musician for 20 years and will never give it up. I will always be a performer and artist at heart. I have been doing mixing for 2-3 years and have fallen in love with it. It has opened up another dimension to music.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: John Mayer, Blackbear, and The Fall of Troy form a band
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Emily Krueger. That girl is mad talented
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: If it sounds good, that's all that matters
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop, hip-hop, indie rock, and EDM, though I used to be in many rock bands for years and have a great ear for rock music.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Mixing-wise: EQ. If I was forced to pick one type of mixing tool it would be that. I think EQ is the meat and potatoes of every mix.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: My musical experience. I'm not only an audio engineer, I am a singer-songwriter and producer and have been playing music for 20 years. I can listen for what a mix needs with regard to musicality and expression.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Balance the static mix, EQ, compress, saturate, reverb/delay. I always utilize mix buss processing as well. I also mix in mono at very low volumes which helps immensely with getting a great mix
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a simple yet effective home studio setup. I use a minimalist approach and have a reliable set of tools which always help me get great mixes. I don't believe gear matters so much as the knowledge, care, and a great song. If you have a great song and a great engineer, you can get a song sounding amazing with just stock plugins.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: John Mayer, Zedd, Underoath,
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Rapport. Building a relationship with my clients and giving them the respect they deserve as always my main priority. You can be working with top-of-the-line artists or engineers and to me none of that matters if you don't have rapport.
I was the Recording/Mixing engineer/Artist on Track 1, Recording/Mixing engineer on Track 2, Mixing engineer Track 3 in this production
