Interview with Savage Soliloquy
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm working on releasing my newest single "Whoa". A love song dedicated to my fiancée. I will keep everyone updated!
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My primary style is fast rapping with harmony. Similar to Bone Thugs. My singing style is a bit unique. I would say its more in the soulful range mixed with some Pleasure P.lol. I tend to go with the flow of the song.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Tech N9ne. He is the Goat. I want to challenge him to a friendly battle of tongue twisting
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Perfect your studio perfomance. Its different than a staged performance. On stage you have to kind of push your voice more. The studio on the other hand can pick up the small intricacies of your voice. Play around with distance and voice levels to perfect your studio perfomance.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Hip Hop/R&B is my soul, but I work with all genres. I grew up in a diverse neighborhood and my parents listened to so much music is passed to me.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My creativity is my alpha skill. I am a marketer and graphic designer, but I was able to draw before I could talk. All I do is create. I created and sold my own comic book at 14 years old. Creativity is all I know.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I think my experience with different genres can help mold any song. I've learned how to read from comic books and have been writing songs and poetry since I can remember. I can lead or be the assist guy.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I use Pro Tools with Waves Plug-ins. I have Auto-tune also.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Tech N9ne is my inspiration. He did it all independent. He didn't fall in with the popular sound. He stood with his sound and wasn't scared to experiment with it.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I've been a studio engineer for around 20 years. I mostly do editing and features. I've been helping people create their sound for a long time.
