Very versatile session pianist. I've played in venues like Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, London Roundhouse and Manchester O2 Victoria Warehouse. I specialise in jazz, soul, r&b, pop, gospel, electronic, rock, ambient and experimental music. I have a passion for harmony, and can use that skill with chords to help write, or to add extra flavour to songs.
I am flexible in the styles that I can play, so reference tracks can be used if you want.

Interview with Finn Carter
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I work on a lot of pop music and lots of jazz-inspired soul/neo-soul. I also work on some folk, rock, electronic, ambient music, film scores. Lots of different stuff!
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My love for harmony and chords means that I can bring a new element to the song if necessary. I know when not to add too much though, as I try to always keep my ego in check.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I will never be afraid to offer opinions for the song, and will often offer my own ideas of how the piano part could sound, whilst being fully prepared to play the part as originally intended.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I will most often be sent a track with a demo-version piano being played on it (often midi) and I'll be asked to play it so that it sounds professional. Otherwise, I will often be sent songs with no piano in them, and I will write a piano part to fit. Pre-COVID, I balanced my time between being a studio musician and a live musician, so I was doing lots of tours and gigs as well as recording in the studio regularly.
