Keen ear for song arrangement, structure and instrumentation. I can help with adding and taking away parts, mixing and adding effects to make your track more unique. I can record drums, electric guitar, acoustic, bass, saxophone, synth, drum machines + vocals, along with mix tracks. I can write tracks with you virtually, or write for you if given a brief. I have a vast knowledge of plugins, synth sounds, drum sounds and can programme drums easily, with a variety of sounds to fit the genre. I am specialised in indie, electronic + pop.

Interview with Annabel Whittle
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I think I bring a unique edge to my songwriting, as I am trained as a drummer, I feel I focus on the groove and how it sits in the song first, which I think is the foundation of any good track. I used an unusual combination of effects and plugins on my tracks, as well as manipulating live samples I have collected myself, which makes the tracks stand out.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I like to start songwriting typically with drums, programming or playing a groove to spark an idea. I then usually focus on the bass, either synth or electric to get a good groove. Then I focus on the melodic elements and structure of the track, bringing in a variety of synths, pads, samples, guitars, woodwind and vocals to create a layered track.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio setup is quite experimental. I have a Tama superstar kit with Meinl cymbals and can create a dry drum sound with crisp cymbals for more indie suited genres. I have two AKG 214 condensers which I record in Glyn Johns method normally. I have electric and acoustic guitars, saxophone, midi keys with a variety of high-end synth plugins, retro drum machines + keyboards, Korg monotron duo and more.
