Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Way too many, but in general I like both modern producers going from heavily processed hyper natural aesthetics like Ben Grosse or Kane Churko up to more natural dynamic sounding production. Really depends on the genre and artist. I listen to both.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mostly do mixing and mastering for solo artists or bands. Often I compliment the production with reamping and the choice over drum sounds. In our studio facility I have a colleague who is doing most of production and recording.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Usually I have a conversation by mail or phone with the artist. Checking project size and budget and of course asking for a reference and wishes aesthetics. Then I ll do a master or mix and send HQ mp3 to the client. After that I ll do revision if needed. If it is a larger project I ll do revision over listento and zoom, so the artist can hear and decide over changes in real time.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a decent treated mastering/mixing room with a bunch of analoge gear and brand new Dutch&Dutch speakers which are super high tech and really reveal the secrets in a mix.
