Giancarlo was an amazing engineer to work with on my track - he was professional, prompt and ensured that the mix he sent back was in line with my vision. I would recommend him 1000% as your go-to mixing engineer!

Giancarlo did the job very professionally, accommodating my every request in a kind and thoughtful way.
It was a pleasure to communicate with him, I am very happy with the result of the mixing because it came just as I wanted.
I will be happy to work with him again soon. I met GC through a Berklee mixing class we took together and he's got a great ear and interest in client needs. He mixed a track for me which I couldn't bring to the next level and he made it sound great, taking excellent notes and direction along the way. https://youtu.be/GZUll6nCCgY
Working with Giancarlo on my first remix was truly a pleasure. He helped take my initial idea and expand it out into a clear and professionally mixed track. Once I provided him all the stems he worked fast to provide me the initial mix. We then went through a few reviews and during our reviews he took my feedback and followed up with exact adjustments in a timely fashion. He also was a great advisor. As this was my first track he walked me through the mix and why he made the decisions he did. All and all it was a 5 star experience and I would recommend him 1000% on your next project!
I have the pleasure to meet Giancarlo during our mixing studies at Berklee College of Music. Giancarlo is a proficient mixing engineer, with great musical skills. His mixes are well balanced, with outstanding musicality and a great care for detail. I fully recommend him as engineer, remixer and producer!
Interview with Giancarlo Altieri
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I remixed a song for the artist named Gavin Turek, that remix went on to appear in the HBO show High Maintenance!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Remixes and client records.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: To be honest, I don't get caught up on this debacle. I use both, as they really do have their own strengths!
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: I feel that because there is so much commercial music released, I frequently get asked if it's loud enough. I usually will deliver a product that it is certainly that (in a healthy way of course!). However, I do recommend getting to know your mastering engineer to finalize the wanted loudness.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it's easy.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What is your goal and vision? Do you have a "sound" in mind? Do you have examples of what you would like the record to sound.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Macbook Pro, Audeze headphones, Fender Strat, Princeton Amp and the apollo Interface.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I moved to NYC in 2009 and was fortunate to quickly get work as a DJ. For the most part is what I enjoy doing. Upon taking that path, I decided to make music as a producer/DJ and have been doing it ever since. From the success I had on these tracks I have been asked to remix songs from various artists and I truly enjoy the process. In 2016 I started mixing for clients and it has been super inspiring!
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: How approachable and caring I am for any project I work on.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I am a musician primarily. So, I am not afraid to have a dialogue with the client on how the production can be changed, modified or improved for the better. Always with respect, but truly all I wanna do is make your song shine.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a pair of Ex Machina Pulsar's in the studio with an Apollo X6 interface a pair of Audeze LCD-X. Although I track with analog gear, I currently like mix work in the box. The room has been acoustically treated with GIK panels a pair of AVAA's and DSP tuning.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Typically I get asked to remix a lot. I also am fortunate enough to mix records for various artists.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise I will work closely with you and ensure that you are completely satisfied with my services.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The ability to make records that rip on a daily basis.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Don't be afraid to really speak out on what you want, sound you're going for and vision.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Indie Dance / Nu-Disco
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Breakbot
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't over compress.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Indie Dance / Electronic. However, I am comfortable mixing other genres.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I will take quite some time to ask the client's vision, goal and direction. From there I always ask for 1-2 reference tracks to ensure I stay aligned with the sound.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Breakbot is my north. I absolutely admire his vision, music, style and productions.
