Stefano Fanini is an Italian bass player. He began studying solfeggio, musical theory, classical and jazz music at the age of 8; then he took private electric bass lessons from some of the greatest exponents of the instrument in Italy (Massimo Moriconi, Cesare Chiodo, Pippo Matino, Marco Siniscalco, Paolo Costa), studied jazz harmony and improvisation with Ramberto Ciammarughi and took double bass lessons from Graziano Brufani and Daniele Mencarelli. Graduated in Political Science in 2001 with a thesis on the relationship between music and politics, in 2003 he published some writings on musical sociology. In 2004 he participated in the Berklee Summer School (Umbria Jazz Clinics) and in a series of seminars held by Stefano Bollani, John Patitucci, Mirko Guerrini, etc. In 2006 he obtained the title of "Expert of musical execution" following participation in the course held by Salvatore Corazza and by Dick Halligan. he has had the opportunity to play both in pop music projects (live and studio) and within jazz groups and has also performed in important events together with italian musicians of undisputed level: Manuel Magrini, Gianni Coscia, Sade Mangiaracina, Fabrizio Fratepietro, Umberto Trinca, Stefano Zavattoni, Laura Lalla, Dick Halligan, Salvatore Corazza, ecc.
