Hey, I‘m Leonard, Record Producer, Mixer, Mastering Engineer and Drummer. I own the Echolit Studio in Berlin’s beautiful countryside, where I do most of my work. Very nice surroundings, a good amount of selected analog and digital tools and a well designed acoustically treated room with good monitoring allow me to shape music to where I want it to be, doesn’t really matter what genre. Although most people would call me more at home with rock, pop or soul music, where the instrumentation stays a bit more on the acoustic than the electronic side, that shouldn’t say you shouldn’t hire me to work on a hip hop track for example. Especially this knowledge and available tools can help very much to improve todays more in-the-box focused approach of production, giving it a more raw energy, dynamic and noble sound.
If needed, sound design and vocal editing is also a big part of my work, since for most music that needs to be right to translate the meaning and emotion of a song.

Leo helped me with 3 songs i had to make for a tv show. I'm stunned with the results. He played drums and at the end mixed all of the songs and I love the vibe he creates and pushes out of the production. I'll definitely work with him in the future, hopefully on more bandstuff.

Interview with LeonardV

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Started playing drums aged 5, then over the years went more to the studio and production side. Was more or less living in big professional studios in Berlin between the age of 17 and 19, until I finally opened my own studio where I started producing bands and eventually mixing and mastering music for outside productions.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Analog studio around a vintage 40 Channel RFZ console (think of Neve thickness with API punch), classic and unique compressors like Urei 1176, a Fairchild Clone, Trident and ADR Compressors, Fulltone Tube Tape Echo, Lexicon pcm81, Tascam 24 channel Tape Machine, etc

A: Mixing, Mastering, Full Production, Drumrecording
