Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

A: I once did a collaboration with Swanky Tunes where I produced and also did vocals and I am really proud of that!

Q: What are you working on at the moment?

A: I am working on my own DJ project "Toby Callum" and also on another secret DJ project ;)

Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A: I just get asked a lot how long it will take, and I answer them that I surely now the importance of deadlines, so I give my best to work as fast as possible! Usually it just takes me 3 days until the track is completely finished.

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A: It's really important that you say exactly what you want, so I can create something you will be very happy with! Reference tracks are also always good.

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: I think my music really sounds like all the stuff that gets released on Revealed Recordings (which I have been signed to) and Protocoll Records.

Q: What's your strongest skill?

A: I think my strongest skill is mixing and sounddesign.

Q: What do you bring to a song?

A: I try to bring as much emotions into it as possible.

Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

A: I get really inspired by artists like Martin Garrix, Lucky Luke, Mike Williams, Brooks and Mesto.

Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

A: I am doing ghost productions for my clients.

Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

A: I can definitely recommend Trafoier, is a hell of a producer!

Q: Analog or digital and why?

A: Digital, it's just easier to work with ;D

Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

A: My promise is that they will be 100% happy with the end product!

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: I absolutely love being creative, and earning money with that is the best thing in the world.

Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

A: "Being a musician isn't a real job" ;D

Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

A: Which genre are you making? What sound are you looking for? What are your reference tracks?

Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

A: -My Mac of course -My KRKs -My Rode NT1-A -My headphones -My voice ;)

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

A: I started with singing and production when I was 13 years old. Since I am on the Herman Brood Academy things are going pretty well and I am doing music on a full time basis.

Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

A: I would love to work with Lucky Luke one day. He actually mixed vocals for me once, but I would love to work on a collaboration with him one day.

Q: Can you share one music production tip?

A: Don´t get too technical. In the end it's all about the idea and the feeling a song gives you.

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

A: I work a lot on Future House and Deep House, sometimes also on Slap House and electro pop.

Q: What's your typical work process?

A: Usually I start just with a piano and a vocal melody. If a melody and some piano chords already sound good, the whole production will sound amazing I think. So I am really focusing on the songwriting aspect when I start with a song. Then comes the whole production around it and the mixing of course.

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

A: I am recording inside of the Herman Brood Academy studios, they got everything what you need for a professional record. The studios are perfectly soundproof.
