Music producer

NoJo on SoundBetter

I'm blessed to work with a content creator known as KissedByKen. She has a million followers on IG and she has a YouTube channel that I make beats for.๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ๐ŸŽถ

I'm a 19 year old producer from Flint, Michigan. I started making beats at the age of 13 years old and worked on my craft to get better and better. I specialize in Pop, Trap, & Hip Hop beats. I was blessed to get the opportunity in early 2020 to begin work with content creator KissedByKen on beats for her YouTube channel that can be heard in almost all of her videos that were posted in the year. My goal is to work with music artists that love their craft just as much as I love making music. I want to give people a way to tell their story๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ I believe I have beats that can turn into hits. I just need people that aspire to have that hit, to make it with me.๐ŸŽถ

Interview with NoJo

  1. Q: How would you describe your style?

  2. A: My style is on the Pop/Trap side. I love making beats with Young Thug/DaniLeigh vibes the most.

  3. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  4. A: Pop, Trap & Hip Hop beats are what I usually work on. R&B is something that I try often as well.

  5. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  6. A: The creation of the beat itself. It's a joy making something from nothing and just vibing.

  7. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  8. A: I stared when I was 13. I was gifted Pro Tools by my parents and feel in love with it. Music has ALWAYS been a love of mine and I started playing Piano at 12, but I didn't know I had the ability to make it until the day I was gifted that DAW. I switched to FL Studio at around 15 and that's where my sound really took leaps to great results. Working with music artists has been something I really want to do, because I feel like I've now made music worthy of radio play.

  9. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  10. A: DaniLeigh by far! She's my favorite music artist of all time and my music sound improved studying her songs. I've been blessed to interact with her on many occasions through social media in 2020. It's a lot more I wanna say regarding this goal. Lol. But, the dream to work with her is definitely huge for me to say the least.

  11. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  12. A: Sound selection is key. The better the 808, kick, keys, etc, the better the sound. Take your time and listen to what you're putting into your work.

  13. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  14. A: I'd say vibes. I've listened to a lot of different music growing up. So that shows up in my music I believe. My sound/melody choices comes from those many different genres I've heard in my life.

  15. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  16. A: I'll bring the beat to help you get creative in your music making process as an artist.

  17. Q: What's your typical work process?

  18. A: Start with the melody and start building the beat from there. Sounds are everything to me. If I start with something that has a great vibe to it, the more creative I get.

  19. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  20. A: I make my music out my bedroom. I have my laptop with FL Studio and a midi controller and just start creating.

  21. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  22. A: DaniLeigh and her producing team are my main source of inspiration. The type of vibes she picks from producers like Wes Tarte, Yonni and Retro Future (to name a few) are always people I listen to make the music you hear.

  23. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  24. A: I provide the beats. I make the music that gives the artist a creative box to work in.
