Interview with Linda Quero / Shorelle
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Edgy and catchy
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Rosalia, as she’s an innovator and, much like her, I always try to bring my cultural heritage in my music
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: K-POP (South Korean pop) is my genre of focus, with Japanese and Chinese Pop included as well. As kpop tends to have around sixteen different melodic structures including various rap flows, in order to be able to write for this genre you first need to be able to write western pop music and have some knowledge in hip hop. Therefore, I am very comfortable in writing for those genres too.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I am particularly strong at melodies and rapping. I am very good at impressions and, having a big range both in highs and lows, I can easily vocal demos both in female and male key.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I always try to bring catchiness with an edge. In my opinion, the hot formula relies on a balance between familiarity and newness, so my purpose as a commercial songwriter and vocalist is to convey a memorable melody revolved a new, interesting concept
