Hello- I'm Dave Barry from Brooklyn, NY. I specialize in organic sounds (Organs, Pianos, Clavinet) played fearlessly and fittingly.
Made my bones in the late '80's NYC Ska/Reggae scene, notoriously adding the funk to the Ska, Salsa to the Reggae and fitting in whatever else would come out of a lifetime of sleeping with the radio on under my pillow...

Interview with Dave Barry
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Yes: Whatever type of music you're doing on the computer, make sure to add some type of acoustic instrument actually played by a human being. You'll stand out among the robotic crowd.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: A lot of Funk, Ska & Reggae.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I'm able to expand/ inflate (?) any song so that it's bulging out of the box, just enough to make it a little more interesting.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: My first instinct is to always lock it up with the drummer and bass player, so that keeps the bottom super-solid; almost a rhythm guitar-like approach. Everything else is pretty decoration.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Clients send me an mp3 (and proper BPM), I pop it into Reason, give it a track or two of what the song needs, then another track or two of what the song wants.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Very simple: MacBook Pro, Reason and many gigabytes of sounds.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I've been doing a bit of everything: Piano, Organ, Clav and synth on Horn driven Funk, Reggae, Ska-Punk...
