A: The first album I produced with Carla Collado. It was my first big project as a sole producer and we ended up being very nice friends and even starting a parallel project together.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am producing an EP for a Musical Theatre actor based in London.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I do not know anybody on SoundBetter, but hopefully I will soon.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both, because it depends on the track, it's going to demand more of one or the other.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My mixes will satisfy you.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The creativeness that it can be applied.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: They ask me about the process in general. I lead them through the steps.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: You don´t need plugins everywhere.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: If they have seen the movie 'Matrix' and what made them start making music in the first place.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: You are de director of your project, and you gotta know how you want it to sound like. I am the person that makes it happen.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My laptop, a good soundcard, a pair of sm9 speakers, and my sm7b mic. And solar panels to make it all work!
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been an English Teacher and developing my music in parallel for 15 years. I was on different bands playing different instruments and styles and entering inside studios and producing tracks.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Risky and familiar at the same time. I like to push the artist in order to get the best from them.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would like to work with Ariana Grande. I think we could develop very interesting ideas and take our sounds to the next level.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Be the bridge between the artist and the song, not the border.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work on pop, urban-wise kind of music. But I have mixed all kinds of stuff
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Creativity would be my strongest skill, I can come up with lots of different possibilities that can help the song be unique.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I can bring that little detail that sticks in your head, also I bring cohesion and coherence to the track in terms of lyricism and instrumental.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I often listen to the track first and get to know the emotion that it wants to inspire. Then, I listen to some reference tracks in order to prepare my mindset for the mixing.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: It´s a simple and effective studio, with an Avid Artist Mix as a controller and 2 Yamahas MSP5 and a complete range of plugins that let me do almost anything.
