Interview with Decibel Peak Studio
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I was the sound designer, dialogue editor, sound effects editor, re-record mixer and 5.1 mixer on a documentary called tOuch that got accepted at the Cannes film festival. I'm proud of the work I did because of the significance of the improvement I was able to deliver to the sound quality. It was definitely one of my biggest challenges to date, especially when it came to de-noising.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: I would make sure the studio has proper insulation from ambient noise and excellent acoustics. If voice is to be recorded professionally, it needs to be done in a space that has been accomodated to such tasks. Plugins might be able to fix it, but that defeats the purpose of paying for studio time.
