Interview with Decibel Peak Productions
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm constantly producing music for my catalogue. I aim to provide the TV/Film/Game/ industry with a continuous stream of freshly baked tracks. It keeps me in shape and the research I put into discovering new sounds is part of what makes the product better.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: BOTH!! I believe that using both analog/digital technology provides the best of both worlds. I use combinations of live and sampled instruments in my productions. Certain instruments CANNOT be sampled effectively, but others are surprisingly just as close to the real thing. As far as signal-processing is concerned, I fell in love with Universal Audio's philosophy on analog/digital technology. The analog emulation is surreal and the DSP technology provides the perfect hybrid of analog and digital nuances.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I like the fact that I get to run the entire assembly line on my own. Sure, it may get lonely at times, but it's always been my dream to become the ultimate "one-man-band". I get to play so many instruments and hear so many different sounds on the daily!
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: I recommended looking for professionals that provide the best means of communication: - Skype/Zoom - WhatsApp - Live Chat (on the website) - Telephone It's extremely important to have 1-on-1 time, especially if it's something subjective. I personally offer consultations on my website and all the services listed above.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Solar Power System Apple 2018 Mac Mini Universal Audio Arrow M-Audio Hammer 88 PreSonus Eris E3.5
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Jack Stratton (the leader of Vulfpeck)
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: If you're going to program instruments using MIDI. it's essential to perform your parts using your favourite MIDI/USB controller. I personally use the M-Audio Hammer 88 most of the time.

A: Music Composition/Production
