A recipient of the NY Women's Fund Grant, Joy has studied Voice for 16+ yrs, is credited with "impressive vocal control, free-flowing melodies & all around musicality" (RockDafuqOut), & is recognized by PopDust for writing a "canticle of female empowerment." Joy played over 50 Sofar Sounds shows, & opened for Ava Max, Sheryl Crow, & Social House.

Joy is credited by Telegram for being "a versatile musician, able to alternate between comic novelty songs and others that are spare, delicate and beautiful" and is a Johnny Mercer Scholarship recipient. With a degree in Vocal Performance from Oklahoma City University, Joy has extensive training in voice and harmonics and has performed harmonies on various records for artists worldwide. A multi-instrumentalist, she uses her ukulele Ed, a keyboard, a bass, multiple percussive instruments (including a banana), and a loop pedal to build vocal/ instrumental arrangements live.

Her song "Happy" won the Pop category in the 2019 SAW competition, and "Whole" won honorable mention in the USA Songwriting Competition. "Whole" also helped Joy to achieve the 2020 NY Women's Fund Grant.

Joy has written and sung on: political satires, EDM songs, commercial jingles, children's songs, musical theater selections, arias, jazz standards, popular covers, and many more.
