I live in the most northern metropolis in North America where I operate a cozy world-class studio in my backyard. I've recorded, mixed, and mastered hundreds of local songs in Edmonton, AB since 2007. I love heavy rock music but stoner rock and psychedelic instrumental rock is where my heart lies. I'm also feverishly obsessed with analog gear!
Mastering of Rock or Metal Song:
I will use my Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor to add light compression with a ratio of 1.2:1, or 2:1, applying only -1db or -2db of compression to your rock or metal song. Once ideal compression settings have been reached, I will use a vacuum tube Manley Massive Passive Mastering Equalizer to balance the frequencies and enhance the sonic characteristics of your song. Lastly, a digital limiter plugin will be applied to reach -6LuFS sound level, which is common industry level loudness for this type of music. The master is then checked for quality control using AI to make sure it is perfect for release! Project will be delivered in whatever native bitrate and sample rate the songs are unless otherwise specified.
