Eric is very professional and his quality is awesome. I still haven't found anyone up in the Maryland area that has the skills and far for music like he does. I highly recommend him as a great engineer.

Interview with Enjetti Audio

  1. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  2. A: How long they expect the process to take? Is there a Deadline? Where do you see the song going(what is your vision)

  3. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  4. A: They ask me about what I think about their tracks and what it needs. I explain what I would do with their song.

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: I have what is called a Hybrid Setup. After my educational bout at Full Sail University, my resources were limited as to having analog gear and I was stuck strictly mixing in-the-box(within the computer). After working and Interning at different studios, buying and testing gear and investing in the right equipment that would work for the sound I wanted, I finally had got some analog gear. So I now have a good hybrid workflow setup.

  7. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  8. A: To deliver a product that not only meets the highest standards of my client but my own standards first and then the industry.

  9. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  10. A: The biggest misconception about what I do is that sometimes clients come to me thinking I can fix anything. The truth is there isn't always a plug-in, piece of hardware or some tweak that can fix a bad recording. Sometimes once the damage is done, it's a done deal.

  11. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  12. A: Find the engineer that you feel comfortable with. Whether it be in your area or overseas. Contact them and let them know what you need done. Ask them what their process is for whether it be , Recording , Mixing or Mastering. Check out their demo reel or ask them for a sample. I usually send a part of the chorus to my clients after I'm done with the mix to make sure they are satisfied with the balance and tonal quality before sending over a payment.

  13. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  14. A: Started Playing guitar and listening to music when I was younger. Then in high school I really started to understand that I had some natural talent playing the guitar. I jammed around with a couple bands playing guitar and sometimes bass and filling in until my senior year when I was introduced to the band Downfall which had no singer and few lyrics written to their songs. I gigged with them as the vocalist and we went into the studio to cut a demo. It was then that I knew what I wanted to do after I got out of high school. I realized that all those musicians and artists that inspired me needed someone to capture their work and translate it through the best media formats available to be able to inspire.

  15. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  16. A: I run Pro Tools 10 with an apollo interface. I use an 8 core mac pro and have Dynaudio monitors. UAD, Waves,McDsp,Ik Multimedia and Izotope plug ins. I am using a API Lunchbox with a few 500 series pieces.

  17. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  18. A: I love jazz and blues. I have met many engineers and professionals in the music industry that have inspired me and taught me many things and I remember and thank them individually for their advice and coaching.

  19. Q: How would you describe your style?

  20. A: Gutsy and straightforward. Careful not to overdo it and knowing when enough is enough.I tame that wild lion of a mix with a whip.lol

  21. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  22. A: If you check out my demo reel on sound cloud you will be able to see that I have worked with all different types of music.I am a guitar player and used to be a lead singer of a band so I do enjoy mixing rock when the genre arises.I usually am happy to work with anything to keep me busy while I'm not working on writing my own music.

  23. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  24. A: Everything. Music is my love and true passion in life.

  25. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  26. A: Well taking in the fact that I had power on a desert island or some sort of solar power converter, I would say a laptop, apollo,headphones,U87,Lunchbox

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: Dave Matthews Band. I like the challenge of working with so many different instrumental elements and styles combined into one.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: If you record the song well , it will be easier to mix.

  31. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  32. A: Energy, Life and Balance

  33. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  34. A: I mostly get clients that want mixing and mastering done.

  35. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  36. A: Mixing Hip-Hop and RnB Instrumentals. Balancing and Treating Vocals Stems.
