EDM & Pop Vocalist/Songwriter

Q: What are you working on at the moment?

A: Currently I'm working on various projects with EDM producers including Corti Organ, Tensteps, Cabuizee and Swole Sauce. I'm also in the midst of recording a collection of songs for my Pop/Electro duo, Me an Di. I always have a bunch of projects going at once. It keeps things exciting!

Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

A: I highly recommend Vocalist & Songwriter, Brooke Stephenson. She has one of the most incredible voices I've ever heard. It's just this tone that I could listen to all day. I've worked with her on a few projects and I can say she is super professional and puts her heart and soul into everything she does. As for producers on SoundBetter, I highly recommend Cabuizee. We just finished our 4th collab together and he is honestly incredible. He works super fast, his tracks are always pristine & I absolutely love how he mixes and EQ's my voice. He's also just an all around awesome person. It's so important to really connect on a basic human level with the people you work with or else the process isn't as enjoyable!

Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

A: Whether I am singing on a pre-written track, or I am writing and singing, I promise to always put my heart and soul in every project. The WAVs will always be clean and well edited and my vocals & songwriting will make your track a banger!

Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

A: I want to make sure I have an understanding of exactly what their looking for so I always ask for references so that I can be sure to achieve what they want from the get go!

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

A: I have been writing and singing professionally for 10 years. I studied songwriting at Berklee College of Music and originally my style was very Singer/Songwriter - kind of like Sara Bareilles. I always knew that I wanted to write commercial pop, though. Once I moved to LA, I started writing with various DJ's and my love for EDM emerged. Then, I went to EDC in Vegas and absolutely fell in love with all things EDM and the culture and that weekend solidified that electronic music was my passion and what I wanted to do the most.

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: I would say that my style as a vocalist is somewhere in between Demi Lovato, Ariana Grande and Olivia Rodrigo.

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

A: Recently, I work mostly on electronic music. I've been working on Dubstep, Trance, House and Future bass.

Q: What's your strongest skill?

A: My strongest skill when songwriting is finding an original way to tell a story. As for my strongest skill as a vocalist, I have studied voice since I was 12 years old and have been with a variety of teachers. This has made my voice very strong and adaptable to different genres and vibes.

Q: What do you bring to a song?

A: I bring not only a fresh sound to a song, but I will always bring emotion to it. Without emotion, no matter how talented the vocalist is, it just won't be as captivating to the listener.

Q: What's your typical work process?

A: I honestly love switching it up - however the client wants it. For SoundBetter, I generally will top line over a track. Sometimes I will take the chords from the song and write on piano. This also helps ensure that the song is good enough to stand on its own without production. That's how you know it's TRULY a good song! I record and meticulously edit all of the vocals myself so they are always the highest quality.

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

A: 11/24, I had a song released on Subsidia Records' Dawn Volume 5 compilation album. It's a melodic dubstep song that I am super proud of. I was the songwriter and vocalist on it.

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: I love that every project is different. I am not one for monotony and each project that I do challenges me and helps me grow as a musician.

Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

A: Even though my strongest skills are my vocals and songwriting, I am not just purely that. I play piano and I am highly skilled in vocal editing.

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A: Be as detailed as possible when it comes to performance. As I mentioned before, my voice is super versatile, so when there are a lot of details on how you would like me to perform your song, the happier you will be :)

Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

A: I would take my keyboard, MacBook, my interface, Sontronics microphone and my neon light machine which always brings the good vibes and inspires me.

Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

A: I admire Demi Lovato's incredible vocals. She captures so much emotion in every word that she sings. In terms of EDM artists, I absolutely love Annika Wells, Haliene and Lights as vocalists and songwriters. Their lyrics are beautiful and they kill it on every feature.

Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

A: The most common type of work that I do is writing & singing over track or singing over a pre-written track.

Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

A: I would absolutely love to collaborate with Illenium. I'm so inspired by his production style and the raw emotion he brings to his songs.
