I listen closely to your needs to make sure you end up with a product you love. I'm especially good at working with people who need assistance with editing, such as aligning instrumentation, tuning vocals, adding effects, and even adding backing vocals, before I start the mixing process, to give your song a more polished, professional sound.
I'm a lifelong acoustic singer-songwriter who quickly fell in love with music production while learning to record and produce my own artist material. I've been working full time as a remote audio editor, mix engineer, session vocalist, and custom songwriter for 4 years now.
Here's a quick list of reasons other people have hired me...
- quick turn around times
- high efficiency and attention to detail
- ability to play multiple instruments
- experience in a variety of styles and genres (acoustic, folk, alt rock, pop, hip hop/rap)
- understands basic music theory
- can find the tempo and key and adjust for deviations outside the key
- has a warm, expressive voice for both singing and narration
- work in and exports the requested file types, bit depth, kHz, etc.
- willing to send videos for an additional fee to show my process
- excellent communicator
- ability to listen to clients and understand their needs
Thanks in advance for trusting me with your project.
I look forward to working with you!

It was an honour to record cello on Katie's song. I'm thankful for the opportunity to work on something so beautiful. The combination of her smooth and soothing voice, matched with heart piercing lyrics made this so easy to connect with and lean in with cello. Katie is an incredible artist to look out for, so check out her music!

I’ve worked with Katie many times, as a coproducer and mixing engineer, to tune vocals, to co-write - she always brings her A game and so much creativity! 10/10 DO recommend!

Katies turnaround was really impressive.
I hired Katie to vocal comp a track that I am working on and you can tell she spent the time to really delve into the vocal delivery and find where to move/tune/cut things etc.
I 1000% reccomend and will be hiring her again in the future. Katie is FANFRIKINTASTIC!
Katie and I have worked together several times on a few songs and productions. She is really easy to communicate with, and she just gets it! She has an amazing sense of arrangement and her productions always sound polished and radio ready. Her singing voice is so beautiful and totally there for those singer/songwriter vibes. She is an excellent songwriter and producer, and will help transform your songs into what you want them to be. Will definitely be continuing to work with Katie!
Interview with Katie Dwyer
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: It took a while for me to realize that music could be a career and didn't have to be a hobby.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is either listening or imagining. I can hear timing, pitch, and/or frequency issues easily, and I'm thankful for that, and I can also use my imagination when listening to rough demos. I can hear a song's potential, which is important when working in a producer role of a project.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Whoever you hire should pass your "vibe check." If something doesn't feel right, it's okay to look for someone else. Trust your gut.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: "Indiscreet" was my first self-produced EP, and I absolutely love how it turned out.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I work remotely with artists and clients from all over the world. I love that I can accomplish so much from the comfort of my own home studio.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Make and save your own presets within your favorite plugins.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: The answer to this question varies greatly based on the project I'm given. For my own artist material, I write the song, record a scratch take to a click track, then begin recording all the other instrumentation. I carefully mix, master (or hire out a separate mastering engineer), create album art, and then upload my song to my distributor.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work using a custom built desktop computer, focusrite scarlet 4i4, Mogami cables, and usually (for vocals) my Baby Bottle large condenser microphone. I typically use my DT 770 Pro headphones for recording, and my 990s for careful mixing. I have a Gretsch Catalina club jazz drum kit behind me so that I can turn my chair and easily play a beat whenever I feel inspire to. I love my Gibson hummingbird acoustic guitar (my gig guitar), and gibson les paul, which I play through an Orange Crush amp. Internally, I use Ableton as my DAW, and I own a long, long list of plugins. Most of my favorites are by Valhalla and Izotope, and I try to keep them updated to the best, most recent version available. I use Melodyne 5 to fine tune vocals that are sent to me.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Ritt Momney is inspiring to me because he is a self-producing artist that got very popular after working hard and building a team to push his artist career. I love that most of his material is focused on the message.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Vocal processing, Backing Vocals & vocal arrangement, Mixing
