It‘s all about the MOJO! Labels like Nuclear Blast, Ripple Music, Heavy Psych Sounds Records, Arising Empire, Burning Wax and many more agreed on that and trusted me with their artists over the last 10 years! So let‘s seek your mojo and let‘s make it shine!
Let’s take your recordings to the next level!
I’m a full time producer/engineer for more than 7 years now and worked with artists and labels from all over the world.
What you’ll get is me as a part time member of your band! When I don’t dig your vibe/music I’ll let you know and refer you to an engineer who’s the right one for the job...
This is why I‘m always 110% in and have never mixed a song that I didn’t listen to in heavy rotation after I was done!
When you think about your influences and come up with names like Graveyard, Motörhead, Guns‘n‘Roses or ANYTHING from the 70s then I’m your (mixing) guy ;-)
So lets get started!

Wow, job handling at its best! 24 hours from getting in touch to listening to the best version of my song I’ve ever heard. No revisions needed, thank you Michael!
A pleasure to work with.
Michael is a great professionnal, passionated and creative. Versatile from vintage to modern production, it can never go wrong since he's always receptive to the wishes of the musicians.Working with Michael was a real pleasure. He was always patient and happy to come up with different ideas how to improve the mix.
What was really important in our process was that we were able to communicate very well and he was really listening to what we wanted to achieve and managed to exceed our expectations in return. To be honest, I was not sure about all these online mixing services...but since we are literally living in the woods and there's no great mixing engineer nearby, we gave it a shot at yourmixingguy.com - and let's put it that way: NO REGRETS! Michael got our shitty sounding tracks and we got real songs in return! Never knew that we are that good ;-)
Michael is not only incredibly talented as a mixing engineer, he is also an awesome producer!
Even regarding the tracks he "only" mixed...he totally understood our music and caught the right vibe!
Before we met him we never thought about spending money for a producer, but when he gets in the game as a mixer, you get your producer on top! ThanxAfter lots of trouble with our engineer we met Michael - and this was by far the best thing that could happen. He immediately became part of our band! And everything felt totally right and natural...and he raised the quality of our recordings to a whole new level!
We are really thankful for our new partner in crime ;-)Michael managed to get the most out of mediocre recordings. If you want to work with a pro, he's your (mixing) guy!
Everything's perfect. All band members are happy as a clam...What more could one want?
This is exactly the production I want for our first album... You nailed it and you have a real musical intelligence!
Interview with Michael Mölders
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Too many! But probably those that lead to a friendship with the artists. Like I said, I‘m a part time member of the bands I‘m working with and sometimes I don’t leave after the job is done.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I‘m in the process of mixing a few songs for an Artist from Germany in collaboration with the former producer of “Die Ärzte“
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Jake Antelis for everything that‘s pop music related
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: We‘ll go all the way!
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Bands who have experience with the concept of online mixing often ask about revisions and if there are any hidden costs. And my answer is always NO! Like I said, I will only work with you if I dig what you do. This is why I want your song to be perfect no matter what. Let‘s all be professional and we won’t need more than two revisions max. And if we do... well, ok, lets do it!
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I guess the biggest misconception is something that’s misunderstood by a lot of engineers - they’re just trying to make some money! If that was the goal I would rather do a desk job
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What’s your budget - no, I‘m just kidding although this is important too. But before that I wanna know “What makes you special, what’s your MOJO?“
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Find someone who shares your vision. Everything else is secondary.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My 500lb Console (if I don’t have to carry it myself), an SM7b, an U89, my Audio Optimum speakers and a pair of swim shorts!
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I‘m a full time producer for more than 7 years now but I‘m doing it probably my whole life...or at least for the last 20 years.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Song-serving!
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Most of the artists I’d like to work with are either dead or retired! But if I had a time machine I‘d definitely go back and sneak in at a Beatles session or Pink Floyd or the early Springsteen.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Everything that's organic! I worked on a lot of psychedelic/stoner rock lately
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: See “What do you bring to a song?“
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Do not try to sound like anyone else and do not try to please the people! Create your own style, your own sound and keep it real!
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: There are so many inspiring people out there...but to name one: Chris Lord Alge - his sound, not him as a person ;-)
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Definitely both! Analog for the sound, digital for the simplicity.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Being part of lots of cool projects, meeting the most interesting people you could imagine and apply your own creativity to (hopefully) improve and enhance the project you are working on.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I always try to capture the essence of a song! If you want your song to sound like the copy of song xy, I'm the wrong guy!
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: There's definitely nothing like a "typical work process"! Every artist, every song, every project is different from all the others. And my job is to treat an artist, a song, a project according to it's needs!
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: The heart of my setup is my 40 channel inline console from Soundtracs. Even just run the signal through it, gives it a warm touch of analog sound - be aware if I press the "EQ In" button ;-) It has got that vintage British sound which makes everything smooth and warm!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: It's all about the Mojo! I always try to figure out what makes you and your music special and point it out in the mix or production. No one should sound like anybody else!
