Matthew Fordham is a musician and producer based in London. He has worked with many musicians either as a producer or a performer. Influenced from a wide variety of artists such as Radiohead, Muse and The Doors, he became fixated with the guitar and piano at age 13. As his skills as a musician grew, so did his interest in recording and mixing music
During his career, Matthew has played in a string of bands that vary in genre, reflecting his diversity as a musician. In 2013, he joined Dirty Dusk, an Alternative Rock band who have played alongside acts such as Little Barry (Happy Mondays).
From 2013 to 2015, he studied Music Technology at Plymouth University. During his time there, he learnt invaluable recording techniques as well as more in depth subjects that focused on synthesis and neuroscience; he qualified with a first. In April 2015, he performed live at Loftus Hall in Berlin. The Electronic/Techno performance created with drum machines and sequencers showcased his wide range of abilities that reflected both his technical and musical skills.
During the end of 2015, he began playing as a bassist for London based Post Punk Band “The Trap”. Just weeks after joining, he started performing at of some of London’s best underground venues such as O2 Islington, Alleycat and The Workshop. In February 2016 The Trap headlined 93 Feet East in Brick Lane alongside Indie Pop band Frealane. The Trap recently released a 3 track EP which has gained the interest of other artists and promoters, resulting in requests to play as far New York.
