Reagan Renfrow on SoundBetter

hello, my friend! i am based in nashville, tn. i like to make sound with anything i put my hands on. i am primarily offering my services as a session bass player, but i can also add other elements if you are interested. as a bass player, i think it is very important to sit back, hold down the low end, and strike at the appropriate times.

i describe my playing as minimal, yet energetic.

i make it a priority to serve the song and artists' needs. i take professionalism and quality work seriously, but i'm very laid back and more than willing to chat about your project so we can achieve the best results together!

i offer my services at a very competitive rate and will work very hard to give you a product you are happy with.

Send me a note through the contact button above.

Reagan is an incredible bass player! He is by far my favorite to work with (and trust me I've work with my fair share). He really has such a talent for playing the bass! He communicates well and really dives into each project he works on with such care and consideration for what is asked of him. Hire Reagan! Trust me you will not be disappointed.

A BRILLIANT MIND! Reagan is 100% my go-to bass player to work with and I will continue to use him for any of my upcoming projects. Not only is he easy to work with, but he always has original, elevated bass melodies and is hardworking and passionate. Highly recommend!

Interview with Reagan Renfrow

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: back in 2015, i started a band with my brother and best friend and we learned so many incredible things about the world of creating and performing music. the process of creating and the fulfillment that came with honest expression during those times of my life are some of the most valuable memories i have. i wrote and recorded bass guitar and pianos and synthesizers for that project, and found a "voice" through my fingers. i am most proud of the learning, yearning, passion, and drive during those times. those times changed me forever, and i channel that energy each time i get involved in the creative process.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: i am working on building platforms like this into something that can keep me busy and be a wonderful outlet for my creative energy. i hope to provide some great services to brilliant people!

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Lexi Aviles! She is a wonderful songwriter with a beautiful, mature perspective on life, and her abilities and creativity surpass her age of only 23.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: analog, preferably. there is an essence to a physical thing, a sense of tangibility, life, and real energy that emulations and digital interfaces can't quite touch.

  9. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  10. A: freedom! creative expression, the ability to bring something fresh into the world.

  11. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  12. A: would you be down to play on this song? my answer: of course, my friend!

  13. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  14. A: the biggest misconception is that i am too busy with other work to care or invest in more projects. the truth is, i'd love to take every opportunity i possibly can.

  15. Q: How would you describe your style?

  16. A: minimal, dynamic, energetic, and explosive.

  17. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  18. A: relax, have fun, and make what feels and sounds the best in a calm state.

  19. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  20. A: I usually work with pop and alt-pop artists, but i am open to expanding my horizons!

  21. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  22. A: I believe my think-outside-the-box approach is my strongest skill when it comes to creating a bass or other instrumental part of a song. While I am confident in my ability to play a structured "meat and potatoes" type of bass part for a song, i also feel that some tasteful spice tossed in is a nice touch to any song.

  23. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  24. A: I mostly perform alongside artists and bands for live performances, but I am looking to work more in the studio to be able to release some more creative energy into the world.
