Hi! My name is Kevin. I am a highly adaptable ProTools Certified engineer with my own space, and I specialize in musicality - meaning, I'm a musician, first and foremost, before a producer or engineer. Scratch that, I'm a FAN first, musician second, engineer/producer third. Read on...
I've worked on all styles of music professionally, as you can hear in the provided examples - everything from hip-hop and rock to classical and jazz. As I mentioned, I'm a fan of the greatest artists in those genres, so I'm well-versed in how they should sound.
Obviously Offbeat is the band/production entity that performs & publishes music that I write. You can find two albums under that name on Spotify/Apple Music. I'm also the guitarist & engineer/producer for the long-running hip-hop fusion band iLLPHONiCS. We've been fortunate to work with the magnificent Tony Visconti (of David Bowie fame), as a co-producer on a handful of songs!
My studio is called Lucy Soundlab, where I work to achieve the best sound envisioned by myself or my co-creators. I do have mobile capabilities, so I can even come to you to get the sound you need. I really enjoy the freshness of working in new environments.
Serious COVID-19 mitigation policies are in effect at my STL studio, Lucy Soundlab.
I look forward to discussing your project with you :)
Would love to hear from you. Click the contact button above to get in touch.

Needed help with an arrangement and he did a really nice job giving me some options to push an idea forward! I recommend.
Total package. Triple threat. As a recording engineer, Kevin follows the sound. He hungers for true sound and artfully crafts new sound. As a multi-instrumentalist, he has the ability to seamlessly fill in the gaps and uplift YOUR sound. As a producer, he will keep you on track to make you sound your best and not settle for less. Hire Obviously Offbeat if you want your music to sound good!
Kevin recorded my solo EP, which I had annoying and very particular ideas for. He was extremely patient and helped me put together an amazing album. I highly recommend him both for those experienced in the studio and those looking into their first time recording.
When a engineer is just as excited about your project as you are, true magic happens. Kevin has the unique ability to take control and allow artistic freedom to flow. Working with him was refreshing and the final product was epic and ground breaking for our scene.
