Brooke is so very professional. I turn 70 in 2 months and selected Brooke as a vocalist for a country ballad that I wrote in the late 80's. I was so impressed with her initial sample, which included a great piano, well I asked her to produce the whole thing. We pretty much modified and re-wrote the song on the fly. I added a bridge, changed some words, Brooke was always pleasant and positive. I recommend Brooke to anyone looking for awesome results, a simply magical voice & a quality production.

Brooke has a beautiful voice and did an amazing job with a very difficult pop ballad. She nailed it and infused it with the perfect emotion to get the song across. I can't wait to work with her again. Sandy W

Interview with Brooke
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise to give every project my absolute best effort! I promise to read through client's notes carefully, to be thorough and detail oriented, and to communicate clearly and effectively
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I always deliver high quality, organized dry wav files at the end of a session.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Clients commission me for vocals and songwriting in all genres. They know that I will provide an authentic, connected performance whether it's an uptempo EDM/pop song to dance to or a slow, emotional ballad to cry to.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I love working on projects of both a bigger scale and a small scale. I arranged and sang the full background vocals (with the same studio setup I use for Soundbetter) for Blues artist Kingfish's song "Rock and Roll". This song made it onto his album "662" which won a Grammy in 2022. I also recently completed a project for a grandfather in Texas. He wanted to create an album as a legacy for his family and grandchildren, and handed me lyrics to 11 songs. I wrote the melodies and instrumental parts, sang lead and harmonies on all 11 songs, and really worked hard at bringing his words to life. We completed the full album and made his family proud :)
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Can you make something great! Yes I can :)
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been singing since I was 10 - it has always been my greatest joy in life and my passion. I am constantly working on my craft. I grew up singing in choirs, church, and malls, and eventually graduated Berklee College of Music as a singer where I gained valuable experience songwriting and recording music. This led me to Los Angeles where I interned at Interscope Records, and worked at Universal Music. While working on the business side of the music industry, I realized I wasn't allowing myself enough time to do my greatest passions - singing and songwriting. So I left the business side to pursue what I love most :) Within a year of quitting the business side, NBC's The Voice reached out to me asking if I would like to audition for them. At my blind audition, I received 3 chair turns (Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton, and Gwen Stefani), and chose to be on Kelly Clarkson's team. I went on to release an album of original music, where I wrote all songs and arranged all vocals. The goal was always to make a living working in music, and my path led me to carve out a career for myself that includes singing, recording, writing, arranging vocals, and teaching music.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: The biggest misconception is people telling musicians they should be content with "exposure" instead of receiving a livable wage. My work on Soundbetter and online singing is my career, it is not a side hobby. I take what I do very seriously and put all of my effort into it - so that I have the opportunity to make a living on my greatest passions.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My voice is very versatile, I sing a wide range of genres - pop, EDM, country, rock, Americana/folk, soul, blues, ballads and jazz - but my heart lies in Americana/country/rock/blues/soul music (think Chris Stapleton), and ballads or slow emotional songs.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: The biggest thing I ask for is their expectations. I want to learn about their desired vocal style for the song, their inspiration(s) for the song, and their concerns, before I get started. I want to make sure that we are the same page from the get-go, since everyone is different and has different preferences/hopes for their song(s).
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I was recently hired by a repeat client of mine to create his entire album. He is a songwriter who is looking to leave his legacy with his poetry/songwriting. He provided me lyrics to 11 songs, and I provide the: vocals, melody writing, full production instrumental tracks, background vocal arrangements, full vocal editing and tuning, and full album delivery. The genre is Americana and blues/rock.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Vocally my biggest inspirations are - Grace Potter, Bonnie Raitt, Susan Tedeschi, Whitney Houston, Yebba and Ella Fitzgerald. The artists whose music inspire me most are Chris Stapleton, Foy Vance, Anderson East, etc.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My aural skills, creativity, and attention to detail are my strongest skills. I have a great ear for harmony. I love working with people and am very professional in my work and communication. My strongest skill singing-wise is recording ballads or slow/emotional songs, it is where my vocal abilities really shine.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Although I am a skilled songwriter, I pride myself on my singing. My vocals were meant for recorded music - its where I really shine. I work hard to bring emotion and life to every song I work on. My musical background is very diverse, allowing me to bring something unique to every project.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been singing since I was 10 - it has always been my greatest joy in life and my passion. I am constantly working on my craft. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My microphone, MacBook Pro, my Interface, vocal booth and a power source :)
