Love to work with creative people and I'm always at service of the music. I'll do whatever I can to make your music sound the best it can be and make you happy about it.
With almost 10 years of experience, I was able to work with great names of Brazilian music, such as Chico César, Nando Cordel, Nação Zumbi, Alceu Valença and Egberto Gismonti and local artists as well, like Orquestra Contemporânea de Olinda, Eddie, Mundo Livre S/A, Hugo Linns and so on.
What I love is to create and be able to establish connections with the artist, and so, the public.
I'm working right now remotely and looking to spread the network and possibility of people and sounds.
I would love to hear you story and make great sounding music as well.

Working with Paulo was great. The mixes were solid, he followed my revision instructions very well and got things sounding the way I wanted them. Great price, quick results, and solid mixes. Planning on further work with him already.
Great professional engineer. Very easy to communicate and work with and is very timely and transparent about deliveries. Would highly recommend Paulo for your project!
100% professional throughout the process. Umbelino is always connected in the details, attentive to everyone and Always with a great new idea to share. It was a great pleasure to work with him in the realization of our project to record the EP of the same name of our band KYRION (available on streaming platforms) and accompanying us in live performances making the sound come out perfect from beginning to end.
Marcos Yesso - Kyrion.
Paulo was the engineer of my record “Deixei um poema lá fora” which is available in every music streaming service and you can check it out there.
It was a big project, with a group of the most varied music guests and diverse instrumentation.
With Paulo’s calmness and knowledge we were able to record with tranquility(I’m one of those people who need you to talk slowly about technology…), always with a margin so we could create new things in the heat of the moment, and the record was finished nice and easy, with an awesome sound quality. And watch out: he probably plays guitar better than you…
Interview with Paulo Umbelino
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a treated room in my house dedicated to do my job. Now I'm using the Focusrite Red 16 Line as my primary converter, running Pro Tools 2020/2021, controlled by 2 Avid S1 so I can make decisions more musically. Using plugins of the companies Waves, Soundtoys, Nomad, Softube, UAD, Focusrite and more. And for summing/analog processing using 2 DBX 160 for bus compressor in some occasions and DBX 1066 for parallel compression. All comes trough the Neumann's KH 120 speakers.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: They give me another ideas and points of view of the same picture, so it's nice to have all the pieces to make a whole masterpiece. I learn a lot.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I usually do recording and mixing in my hometown, but it's common to be asked by artists or studios to do some services of Melodyne and editing.
